Mask Wearing and Entry Requirements for Colombia
(COVID-19 related)

(Very Important Information – Everyone should read this)


Masks. Masks are not required to be worn anywhere in Cartagena. However, you are welcome to wear a mask at your own discretion.

Covid-19

Fully vaccinated passengers:
COVID-19 test not required – However, all passengers must present a COVID-19 vaccination certificate in physical or digital format that shows they are fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to arrival. Information about vaccination status can be provided to your Check-MIG application (a type of digital arrival card that all travelers to Colombia must fill out prior to entering Colombia).

** Fully vaccinated means that you have had at least TWO shots of Covid-19 vaccination that requires minimum TWO doses (ie. Pfizer, Astra-Zeneca, etc.)

Unvaccinated passengers / Partially vaccinated passengers:

A COVID-19 test is required to board flights to Colombia

Options for Passengers to present:

  • a negative PCR test for COVID-19 in physical or digital format with validity of up to 72 hours; or
  • a negative antigen test for COVID-19 in physical or digital format with validity of up to 48 hours.

Exceptions: Passengers younger than 18 years of age on the day of entering Colombia

** Partially vaccinated means that you have not completed TWO doses for vaccines that require a minimum of TWO doses or more (ie. Pfizer, Astra-Zeneca, etc.)

Entry Forms (Check-MIG application)

All delegates are required to complete this form entering and departing Colombia.  The Colombian Check-MIG Form is an online health declaration that must be completed by every person who wishes to cross the Colombian border, whether to enter or to leave Colombia. It requires travelers to provide basic information about their trip to or from Colombia, as well as their personal details and current health status. Everyone needs to have the completed Check-MIG form for both entering and leaving the Colombian territory.

Required information:

  • The border crossing point to be used
  • Way of entering/leaving Colombia
  • Date of arrival/departure
  • Estimated time of crossing the Colombian border
  • Flight details

Steps:

  1. Fill the Check-MIG form with the required data – carefully complete the Check-MIG form with all the required data and make sure every piece of information is correct and relevant.
  2. Answer a few health and Covid-19-related questions
  3. Cover the service fee using a credit/debit card or any other method of payment
  4. Wait for a confirmation email to be delivered

The Check-MIG form ca be submitted through several portals (all charge a fee of approx. USD 39 /person).
